[origin: EP1595792A1] The machine for filling crates (26) with mail in envelopes comprises a stacking table (2), on which the mail is stacked, and a support (45) which holds the crate (26) at an angle, with its open side facing the mail. A swiveling ejector transfers the mail into the crate so that it is parallel to its base. An independent claim is included for a method for filling crates with mail.
