[origin: EP1596153A1] The body armor element with bullet and stab proof layers (12, 14), in particular, for body armor clothing items comprises an intermediate buffer layer (16). This layer is constituted so that an ordinary hand gun bullet entering at an angle of up to 65 to the outer normal of the clothing item passes through or at least enters into the stab proof layer (14) of the armor element.
