Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2004076239A1] The invention relates to a water drainage system for a car body cavity (4) comprising at least one drainage hole (2) of the body (door threshold 1), an associated waterproof element (3) which is sealingly maintained along the contour of the hole, a cover element between the drainage hole (2) of the body (door threshold 1), a drainage opening (partial openings 10a, 10b, 10c) of the waterproof element (3), which is parallel to the drainage hole and a elastically deformable closing element (sealing valve 12) for sealing the water drainage opening (partial openings 10a, 10b, 10c). Said closing element is openable by the pressure of water accumulated in the cavity (4). The aim of said invention is to improve the watertightness of said waterproof element (3) and ensure reliable water drainage from the cavity (4). For this purpose, a single sealing valve (12) is used as a closing element for the water drainage opening (partial openings 10a, 10b, 10c). When said element is in a closed position, the valve entirely covers said water drainage opening (partial openings 10a, 10b, 10c). An annular sealing seat (sealing ring 14, sealing arm 17) is arranged between the opening edge and the sealing valve (12).
