[origin: WO2004072923A2] The invention relates to an electronic intermediate module that is suited for detecting data of at least one peripheral unit and for transmitting the detected data to a position measuring device. To this end, the intermediate module comprises at least one data detection interface for a data transmission connection to a peripheral unit, whereby the transmission of data ensues in the direction of the intermediate module via the data transmission connection. The intermediate module also comprises a communications interface for a communications connection that is suited for transmitting the data from the intermediate module to the position measuring device.
