Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1598479A1] The joint consists of at least two steel profiles (2, 3) fixed to the facing edges of two adjacent slabs (5, 6), each profile having an anchoring element (8, 9) and a male (2A) or female (3A) connector that fit together with a compressible assembly between them. The compressible assembly can be made in separate or linked sections (10A, 10B) that fit between the facing surfaces of the male and female connectors and allow a relative horizontal movement of up to 0.5 cm between slabs without any variation in level. It is made from glass, carbon or polymer fibres, mixtures of these, or from a closed-cell foam, and attached to the joint components by spots of adhesive.
