Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004078805A1] The invention relates to vinyl chloride mixed polymers which can be obtained by means of the radically initiated polymerisation of a mixture of vinyl chloride, vinyl monomers containing epoxide, and other comonomers which can be copolymerised therewith. Said mixed polymers are characterised in that a) between 49.5 and 90 wt. % vinyl chloride, b) between 0.01 and 0.7 wt. % vinyl monomers containing epoxide, and c) between 9.5 and 50 wt. % of other comonomers which can be copolymerised with a) and b) are polymerised. According to the invention, the amounts in wt. % are added together to equal 100 wt. %, and, optionally during or following the polymerisation, between 0.001 and 0.1 wt. % of at least one carboxylic acid is added from the group containing aliphatic and alicyclic, saturated and unsaturated dicarboxylic acids containing between 1 and 10 C atoms, and aliphatic and alicyclic, saturated and unsaturated hydroxymonocarboxylic, hydroxydicarboxylic, and hydroxytricarboxylic acids containing between 3 and 10 C atoms and between 1 and 4 hydroxy groups.
