Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2399105A] A jack rafter comprises a first part 70, preferably comprising a slot 85, insertable in a first hollow roof beam (7, fig 8) and a second part 90, preferably having a spigot 96, for attachment to the side of a second roof beam (4, fig 9), said parts being mutually engageable to connect the two roof beams, one of which constitutes a jack rafter. The connector spigot 96 may be inserted into the slot 85 and rotated 90 degrees into position. The first part 70 may have slots at both ends with end faces 82, (84, fig 5) which are at different angles to each other so that the part can be reversed for forming rafter connections at different angles. Roof beams having a hollow core profile and a plastics member for receiving a cap for retaining a glazing panel are also described.
