[origin: EP1600227A1] The machine to forge workpieces has a clamping head (4) with an intermittent drive to hold the workpiece (3) at one end and a rotating counter holder (5) for the other end of the workpiece in a frame (12). The counter holder has a controlled intermittent rotary drive (13), synchronized with the clamping head drive. Both drives are operated by a common control (23) to rotate the workpiece in conjunction with the strokes of the forging tool (2).
