[origin: EP1457238A1] A mountainside ski slope has an entry zone (A) at the top and an exit zone (B) at the bottom. The two zones are linked by a ski area that is sub-divided into a machine-smoothed zone (20) for inexperienced skiers, and a non-smoothed zone (30) offering a greater challenge for the more experienced skier. The boundaries of the two zones have suitable markers.
