Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004081300A1] The invention relates to a method and a computer program product for controlling the water supply in a sanitary installation (1) comprising a cold water supply conduit (2), a hot water supply conduit (3), a valve battery (5) connected to an energy supply (4) for opening or mixing the water supply, in addition to a sensor unit (6) that is connected to the energy supply (4) and comprises at least one proximity sensor (7). When a person enters the detection area (8), said proximity sensor (7) emits an action signal (9, 9', 9'', 10, 10') to an electronic controller (11) that is connected to the sensor unit (6) and the valve battery (5), said signal differing in potential and/or quality from a resting signal (12) that is emitted by the proximity sensor (7) in the absence of a person. By detecting and processing a certain number of action signals (9, 9', 10, 10') or by activating the sensor (7) over a period of time (t1), the controller (11) displaces the valve battery (5) into a position that corresponds to said signals, permitting water of a predetermined temperature and/or at a predetermined flow rate to be supplied to the sanitary installation (1).
