[origin: EP1602410A1] A pulse centrifuge (1) has a housing (10) with a removable lid (14), a rotor (2) with a drive piece (3), and a contaminant trap piece (4). The drive piece runs upward into or through the contaminant trap piece, so that the drive piece comprises all the components for rounding of the rotor, and is itself securely mounted, so that it cannot be withdrawn axially with the lid open.
