Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1603141A1] The arrester has an isolated gas filled enclosure (1) made of electrically conductive material, and an active component (2) arranged in the enclosure and aligned along the axis of the enclosure. The component has varistors that are clamped by a clamping unit and form a mechanically stable varistor column (3). The unit has a loop, which is made up of an isolated gas resistant material and supported on two electrodes of the component.
