Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1604707A2] A release system for a fire extinguisher has a one piece plastic moulding attached to a container via a hinge (4) and with a hole (5) to locate a safety pin. A raised section (3) of the moulding has a profiled surface which is struck with the balled fist, after removing the safety pin, to release gas from a cartridge to pressurise the container. The primed extinguisher is then operated on demand by pressing a marked section of the raised profile. The plastic moulding has numbered markings to indicate sequence for priming and operating the fire extinguisher, i.e. removal of the safety pin, striking the raised profile and pressing the raised profile.
