[origin: WO2004083517A1] The invention relates to a steel-wire rope, in particular to a standard product in which the external threads (6) of the strands (3) of an internal strand layer (2) are provided wit a plastic coating (7). The use of said plastic coating which is limited in the quantity and volume thereof in the steel-wire rope makes it possible to arrange an intermediate plastic layer used as a covering between the external strand layer and the internal strand layer at all thread crossings, and also between the internal strand layer and a central strand or a dipper strand layer.
