[origin: GB2399834A] A floor panel 1 comprises a substrate 3 with a top surface 2 and side edges 6, and has an edging strip 7 applied to at least some of the side edges of the panel. The edging strip 7 has a substantially flat inner face for bonding to the side edge 6 of the panel, and has an outwardly projecting sealing lip 8 for sealing between adjacent floor panels on assembly. The core of the panel may be wood or concrete, and may be encapsulated in an envelope, e.g. of steel. A surface covering 5 of vinyl, carpet, laminate, wood, stone or marble may be present and the panels may stand on pedestals to constitute a raised floor.
