Abstract (en)
The machine (1) hot rolls a thin metal foil (17). The foil is pulled off a first reel (2) and is wound up on a second reel (3) after passing between the pressure rollers (4,5). The pressure rollers are pressed together with a force of at least 3000 kN and are made of ceramic material. The pressure rollers are unheated. The foil is heated by passing an electric current between contacts (18,19) before and after the pressure rollers. There are pyrometers (21,22) placed on the other side of the foil from the contacts. The top and bottom pressure rollers are supported by top (6-10) and bottom (11-15) arrays of backup rollers.

Zur Herstellung eines Feinblechs oder einer Folie aus einem metallischen Werkstoff durch Walzen wird das in der Umformzone auf eine vorgegebene Temperatur erwärmte Walzgut (17) mit nicht beheizten Arbeitswalzen (4,5) aus keramischem Material in einer Schutzgasatmosphäre gewalzt.
