[origin: EP1607501A1] In a process to weave pile textile the strands (31, 32) are introduced to the shed by powered inserts in a programmed sequence varied as required. The pile threads (31, 32) variable stroke is determined in accordance with the most recent fixing point in one of the two foundation layers. The shed height in the vicinity of the rearmost web-blade (2) position, is at the maximum point set by the pile threads. The end position and/or the pile thread feed point in the vicinity of the middle shed (M1, M2) is such that there are not more than two regular pile threads to each reed gap, simultaneously in one plane or in opposition. Also claimed is a commensurate weaving assembly.
