[origin: WO2004083055A1] During the opening of containers (B) to the top of which a stopper-type lower part (2) is fixed, a cylindrical piercing element (3) mounted in said lower part can be driven by a means (44) in such a way that it moves downwards in a helical manner in a screw cap (4). Said piercing element (3) has a cutting element (33) which cuts the container (B) open. If a plastic film of the container (B) consisting of laminated material does not separate from the tip (36) of the cutting element (33), the film stretches. The stretched film can then be pierced by a perforating tooth (38) succeeding the cutting element (33).
