[origin: DE10358988B3] The fuel injection control uses a measuring signal from an exhaust gas sensor positioned in the engine exhaust for indicating the fuel/air ratio for each engine cylinder, a first regulator (B3), with an integral regulation characteristic, supplied with the difference between the actual and the estimated fuel/air ratios, for providing a first estimation value, fed to a second regulator (B5) with a proportional regulation characteristic, providing a lambda regulation factor for correcting the calculated fuel mass for each cylinder, used for control of the fuel injection valve. The lambda regulation factor is fed to a filter (B7) providing a second estimation value, compared with the first estimation value for provision of the estimated fuel/air ratio.
