Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2004088141A2] The invention relates to a pump (1), such as a vacuum pump or a compressor, comprising a pump housing (18) and at least one pump piston (2, 3) that moves along a circular path. In order to embody a novel pump of said type, the pump piston (2, 3), which is optionally coupled in a rigid manner to one or several additional pump pistons (2, 3), moves about a swivel pin (5) so as to oscillate along a trajectory that is correspondingly provided with two reversing positions. Optionally compressed or pressurized medium is discharged via a discharge valve (8) while an intake valve (9) opens during a movement from one reversing position to the other, whereupon the medium is discharged at a given pressure end of the pump piston (2, 3) while being sucked in at an intake end thereof during a pressure build-up.
