[origin: EP1610333A2] The packaging for a data storage disk (1) is in the form of an envelope (3) and has a folded structure with sealing flaps (9, 13) that can be easily separated for removal purposes. A cord (7) is used for attachment to an object. The disk surface is accessible through a cut out section (10). Independent claims are included for : (1) an outer packaging for a packing unit; (2) use of a packing unit or an outer packaging; and (3) a method of producing an outer packaging.
