Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004085371A1] The invention relates to a method for the separation of a monomer comprising at least one double bond, subsequently known as a monomer , particularly (meth)acrylic acid, from a composition Z comprising said monomer and at least one impurity different from said monomer, consisting of the following steps: the composition Z is brought into contact with an additive, said additive having a melting point of 150 DEG C maximum and a vapour pressure at a temperature of 20 DEG C of 1mbar maximum, whereby a separation phase is formed, and separation of the monomer from said separation phase. The invention also relates to a device for the production of a monomer from a composition containing a monomer, the monomers obtained according to the inventive method, chemical products containing said monomer and the use of said monomer in or for the production of chemical products.
