[origin: WO2004079163A1] The invention relates to a camshaft (1), comprising pressed cams (2). The recess (4) of the cams (2) is interleaved with spaces and partial areas of the shaft (1), where the cam is to be positioned and pressed, are surface-structured (6) by roller burnishing. The diameters of the surface structurings of the recess (4) of the cam (2) and the shaft (1) are dimensioned in such a way that the surface structures are acted upon with little expenditure of force when the cam (2) is drawn onto the shaft (1), whereupon the cam is fixed. In addition to said mechanical pressing of the cam (2) with the aid of the shaft (1), hardening sealing material is placed in the gaps of the structured surfaces. As a result, the mechanical pressing forces can remain small, while, however, achieving a high degree of mechanical solidity in the connection, thereby enabling sensitive or relatively thin cams to be fixed to the shaft (1) in a highly accurate and stable manner without any warping.
