The curling iron includes a conical barrel, a heater located in in the conical barrel for providing thermal energy to heat the conical barrel, a precise temperature control for accurately controlling a heating temperature of the conical barrel, and at least one heat sink for forcibly holding the heater in the conical barrel and for conducting thermal energy from the heater to the conical barrel.
