[origin: WO2004090216A1] According to the invention, the central bobbin shuttle (15) of a sewing machine (1) is pivotably mounted on a central bobbin shuttle carrier (25). Said central bobbin shuttle (15) is moved from its working position (X) into a bobbin case withdrawal position by means of a pivotal movement of the central bobbin shuttle carrier (25). The pivotal movement displaces the central bobbin shuttle (15) and the bobbin case (17) towards or above the opening which is freed by the flap (13) in the lower arm (5). In this way, the withdrawal of the bobbin case (17) or the bobbin is significantly simplified.
