Abstract (en)
The present patent application describes a collapsible or detachable provision of a part of a ship (4), wherein said provision collapsed or detaches on impact of said ship with an obstruction, thereby preventing at least in part damage to said ship and/or flooding of said ship and/or maintaining operability of said ship. The invention provides a ship, or a rudder (2), keel, or hull, comprising the invention, and a method to prevent puncturing of a ship's hull and/or to maintain the operability of a ship comprising providing a ship with a provision of the invention. The invention also discloses a method comprising providing a rudder (2) with a detachable or collapsible provision of a part (3) of said rudder.
