Abstract (en)
Filament yarn (1) is false-twist textured by a friction disk twisting unit (9). Processing conditions are kept constant by controlling the torque imparted by the twisting unit (9), preferably by controlling the power output of the drive motor (20). A sensor measures the transmitted torque and controls the speed to keep it constant. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) A false-twisting texturing unit, e.g. a friction disk or a nip twister, equipped to control processing conditions by keeping the twisting torque constant; (2) A yarn texturing machine incorporating such a false-twisting unit.
