Abstract (en)
A stufferbox chamber (19) is fed with yarn driven by a number of angled fluid jets (16.1, 16.2) aimed into the feed duct (3). The directions of individual jets are different, e.g. they can be central (16.1) or tangential (16.2), and they are separately pressure- and temperature (24.1, 24.2)-controlled. Various combinations of tangential and central action are obtained by adjusting the supply pressure or the fluid supply duct cross-section. An independent claim is also included for a pneumatic stufferbox installation with separate pressure control or different supply channel section for each driving jet (16.1, 16.2). Alternatively a controlled bleed connection leading to the stufferbox vent can be provided.
