[origin: WO2004091353A1] The invention relates to a water boiler consisting of a water heating container (11), a lid (2) pivoting thereon from a closed to opened position, a looking device (5, 51) for blocking the lid (2) in the closed position thereof on the water heating container (11) and a control button (3) which is connected to the locking device (5, 51) and used for release said device. The locking device (5, 51) comprises a locking slider (5) which is prestressed in a direction of the control button (3) by means of a closing spring and mounted on the lid (2) in a sliding manner. When the lid (2) is closed, the closing slider (5) enters in the cavity (6) of the water heating container (11) by a closing spigot (51), thereby locking it. Said invention is characterised in that the cavity is embodied in the form of a slider guide (6) and connected to a recess provided with two lateral funnel-shaped faces (61, 62) converging to each other. An undercut opening (63) is connected to the recess below the lateral face (62) facing the control button (3).
