[origin: WO2004094406A1] The invention relates to substituted 5-hydroxyindoles with N-oxide groups, a method for the production thereof, pharmaceutical preparations which contain said compounds and the pharmaceutical use of said compounds which are inhibitors of phosphodiesterase 4, as active substances in the treatment of diseases which can be influenced by the said inventive compounds by means of an inhibition of phosphodiesterase 4 activity, especially in immunocompetent cells (for example, macrophages and lymphocytes).
