[origin: WO2004065797A1] The invention relates to a non-chokable pump whose impeller (2), which is comprised of a supporting disc (6) fitted with open blades (7; 8), maintains a distance from the casing wall (12) situated opposite thereto on the suction side. This distance is such that from the inlet (11) of the non-chokable pump to the impeller outlet between the impeller (2) and the casing wall (12), a passage is maintained that enables the free transit of a spherical object of a certain size contained in the liquid to be pumped. The aim of the invention is to create a non-chokable pump, which achieves an increase in efficiency while fulfilling the delivery according to a free transit for a ball of a predetermined size. To this end, the invention provides that the passage, which enables the free transit of the spherical object, extends from the inlet (11) to the impeller exit through the blading of the impeller (2) with a minimum dimension (M) that corresponds to the desired ball transit.
