Abstract (en)
In a high-gradient magnetic separator comprising a matrix (separating zone) positionable in a magnet system (2) and inlet(s) (4) and outlet(s) for a magnetizable particle suspension, the matrix comprises magnetizable plate-form separation surfaces (located between the inlet and outlet), through which divided partial volumes of suspension flow in succession. Alternate separation surfaces are fixed and moveable, the moveable surfaces being fixed to a moveably mounted carrier.
