Abstract (en)
An easy open end for a pressurised food container having an end panel (31) and a conventional aperture score (32), surrounding the periphery of an aperture through which the contents of the container may be dispensed. A tab (7) is provided to facilitate easy opening of the aperture. The easy open end also includes a vent score (33), which is arranged to rupture before the main aperture score (32), to vent the internal pressure in the container, before the container is opened. The end panel (31) and / or tab (7) also defines a shield (76) to prevent the egress of product from the vent opening, when the vent score (33) is severed.
