[origin: EP1617023A2] A rotary catch (20) has a slot accommodating a locking pin and rotates about an axis (21). It has a sharp corner (23) engaging shoulders (33) on the pawl (30). A coil spring (40) has a first straight leg fastened (41) on the pawl and a second straight end fastened (42) to the vehicle bodywork. The spring has a toggle action. It may push the pawl away from the catch toward a fixed stop (14). The pivot point (31) for the pawl is situated near its bottom end, and a shoulder on the bottom end engages the sharp corner on the catch. In a second position, the top of the pawl is pushed toward the rotary catch, and the top shoulder engages the catch.
