[origin: WO2005008069A1] A compressor includes a cylinder block having a cylinder bore. The compressor includes a front housing joined to a front end of the cylinder block and having a crank chamber. The compressor includes a rear housing joined to a rear end of the cylinder block via a valve plate and having a suction chamber and a discharge chamber. The compressor includes a piston configured to reciprocate in response to rotation of a drive shaft rotatably supported in the crank chamber. The suction chamber includes a first suction chamber in fluid communication with a suction port for introducing a refrigerant from outside. The suction chamber includes a second suction chamber in fluid communication with the cylinder bore through the valve plate. The first and second suction chambers are separated by a partition and communicate with each other through communication passages defined by the partition.
