Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004086848A2] The invention relates to a soil cultivation appliance, especially a hoe, which is operated in an electromotive manner and used to cultivate soil in the domains of agriculture and horticulture, said appliance comprising an asynchronous rotary current motor (4) for driving a rotatable soil cultivation tool (3). Said soil cultivation appliance comprises a frequency converter (10) for producing a drive voltage having a regulatable frequency for the rotary current motor (4), the frequency converter (10) being connected to a manually operable regulating device (8, 9) for changing the frequency of the drive voltage. The rotary current motor is embodied in such a way that an approximately constant torque of the rotary current motor (4) is maintained over a wide range of rotational speeds of the rotary current motor (4), which can be adjusted by means of the regulating device (8, 9). The invention provides a user-friendly soil cultivation appliance that can also be operated within low ranges of rotational speed for efficient soil cultivation.
