[origin: WO2004096509A1] For known veneer-cutting machines the start-up is a problem since it is a relatively time-consuming operation which at least partially is difficult to carry out. For this reason, the aim of said invention is to improve a veneer-cutting machine in such a way that the start-up thereof is simplified and accelerated. For this purpose, a device for automatically positioning a tool slide (2) with respect to a fixed block of wood (19) is used.
