[origin: WO2004099481A1] The invention relates to a sewing machine comprising two needles (8, 9) that are at an angle (alpha) to the vertical axis (Y) of the warp protector (C). Once the warp protector has pierced the item to be sewn with the tip thereof, said needles pierce through vertical slits (27) in the warp protector (C). The two needles (8, 9) are driven in the direction of the respective axis thereof, i.e. in the direction of the axes (V1,V2).
