Abstract (en)
The system consists of a truncated conical hopper (211) with an inner dosing screw and a scraper fixed to a central shaft, a hopper filler and dosing tube (214) that co-operates with the hopper's lower opening and receives the lower end of the screw. The tube is connected to a packaging unit (3), where the atmosphere is modified by an inert gas injector (311) delivering nitrogen, carbon dioxide, a rare gas such as argon, or a mixture of these. The inert gas is also delivered into the hopper at three or more points (215) at a preferable pressure of 1.5 to 3 bars.
