Abstract (en)

The procedure, designed to dispense cold packs such as sachets or containers filled with a liquid or gel that solidifies when cooled, consists of cooling the packs to a temperature below 0 degrees C either outside or inside a dispensing zone and then dispensing them as required by a user to conserve or cool foodstuffs or medicines while they are being transported to a new zone where they can be kept cold. The sachets or containers are filled with a eutectic-based substance or a mixture of such substances that solidify at temperatures of between 0 and -30 or between -5 and -25 degrees C. They are held in a distributor in which they pass through a tube or other circuit to an outlet, through which they are dispensed e.g. on payment via a coin-in-slot system.
