Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004096566A1] The invention relates to a method for improving printability on paper or paper products with the aid of an ink-jet printing method. Said method consists in treating paper or paper products by aqueous solutions containing cationic polymers whose charge density is equal or higher than 3 mVal/g and which are used as a sole treating agent in the aqueous solution. The cationic polymer is applied to a paper or paper product surface, whereby the quantity thereof ranges from 0.05 to 5.0 g/m <2>. The use of said cationic polymers in order to improve the printability by ink-jet printing on paper or paper products is also disclosed.
