Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2004089713A1] The invention relates to a method for the operation of a hydraulic brake system with an integrated parking-brake function for motor vehicles provided with two axles. Said brake system essentially comprises a pedal-operated pressure transducer (31), at least one hydraulic pump (4), a control element (12) which is connected to an electronic control and regulation unit (9), and wheel brakes (2) provided with inlet and outlet valves (13,14). The wheel brakes associated with the second vehicle axle are provided for executing a parking-brake process. According to the inventive method, the hydraulic pump (4) is controlled in such a manner that noise created by the hydraulic pump (4) during the initial and end part of the parking brake process can be reduced such that the pressure required for the initial part and/or the end part of the parking-brake process exhibits a pressure build-up gradient which is lower than the maximum possible pressure build-up gradient predetermined by the structural features of the hydraulic pump (4).
