[origin: WO2004099011A1] A pouring fitment (202) is provided. The fitment is of the type intended to be secured around an opening in a container (101) by means of an adhesive (111) located between the base (206) of the fitment and the container. The base (206) includes one or more recesses (212) adapted to hold adhesive, for preventing the spread of adhesive beyond a periphery of the base when the fitment is secured to the container. The one or more recesses (212) have one or a plurality of projections (214) extending therein to improve adhesion between the pouring fitment (202) and the container (101).
