Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004100092A2] The invention relates to a system for telemonitoring and detecting the fall of a body. The invention comprises: (i) an autonomous personal device (2) which is used for acceleration measuring, detection and transmission (4) and (ii) a remote receiver unit (3) which can trigger an alarm. According to the invention, the system comprises three structural levels including a first level corresponding to the personal device (2), comprising means for taking and storing acceleration measurements, means for calculating and detecting with a first set of pre-determined criteria and means for transmitting (14) to a second level. The aforementioned second level corresponds to the remote unit (3) and comprises means for calculating and detecting with a second set of pre-determined criteria in relation to the acceleration measurements received. The inventive system further comprises a third level corresponding to a different computerised centralised-administration means which is connected to a telecommunication network (5). Moreover, the above-mentioned remote unit also comprises means for connecting same to the computerised administration means via the network. The invention also relates to detection and telemonitoring methods involving, for example, analyses of changes in the measurements and energy calculations, and to an application thereof.
