Abstract (en)
The DC source (1) for the corona discharge has an AC supply with a step-up transformer (2) followed by a rectifier bridge (3). The AC supply may be at 400 V 50 Hertz. The rectifier terminals (G1,G2) are connected via a capacitor (C3). Two electronic switches (S1,S2) in series are connected across the rectifier terminals and are connected to a control circuit (4). Connecting lines (A,C) are connected to the rectifier terminals and a third line (B) is connected to the midpoint (V) between the switches. A first corona discharge system (5) has electrodes (E1,E2) connected to the second and third lines. The electrode arrangement (E) incorporates a resistor (RE) and a capacitor (CE).
