[origin: WO2004102768A1] The invention relates to a device for supplying power for a high-current consumer (12), particularly for an electric auxiliary compressor in a motor vehicle. According to the invention, the electrical auxiliary compressor is supplied with voltage with the aid of two ultracaps (16, 17) and a high-current diode (15). The power supply ensues, via the high-current diode (15), starting from the vehicle electric system battery (11), whereas during the starting phase of the electric auxiliary compressor (12), the ultracaps (16, 17) provide a high electrical output for a short period of time, at a voltage that is twice that of the vehicle electric system voltage.
