[origin: WO2004102939A1] The invention relates to a network-based verification of call connections between a telecommunications subscriber terminal (10) and a telecommunications service device (40) selected by a service call number. The aim of the invention is to provide a new way of enabling secure protection against an undesired selection of a service device and/or the selection of an undefined service device. To this end, the invention relates to a system and a method, according to which, during a call set-up (A), the selected call number is evaluated on the basis of at least one service call number stored in a communication network and/or at least one service call number area. In response to the identification (B) of a service call number, the transmission (G) of a defined confirmation information message from the telecommunication subscriber terminal (10) is requested for the verification of the call connection, and in response to a mismatch between the requested confirmation information message and the confirmation information message transmitted, or not, by the telecommunication subscriber device (10), the call set-up is interrupted.
