The fire door has a metal profile round the edge and divided in the region of the end face of the fire panel door (4) so that the two profiled parts (6,7) each engage over one of the side faces of the glass door and over the end face connecting the side faces and are spaced from each other. A heat resistant fireproof material (13) is provided between the profiled parts at least in the region of their partition.

Mit vorliegender Erfindung wird ein flächiger feuerfester Abschluss, insbesondere Glastür für Brandschutzzwecke, zur Vermeidung des Übertritts von Feuer und Rauch im Brandfall von einem ersten Raum in einem benachbarten zweiten Raum, mit mindestens einer Brandschutzscheibe, die an zumindest einem Rand ein Metallprofil trägt, vorgeschlagen, welcher dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass das Metallprofil im Bereich der Stirnfläche der Brandschutzscheibe (4) geteilt ist, wobei die Teilprofile (6, 7) jeweils eine der Seitenflächen (12) der Brandschutzscheibe und die die Seitenflächen verbindende Stirnfläche teilweise übergreifen und zueinander beabstandet sind. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ebenfalls eine entsprechende Doppeltür.
