[origin: WO2004100892A2] The present invention relates to compositions and methods of treatment of various conditions, including but are not limited to, stroke, wound healing, and joint diseases (e.g., osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis). More particularly, the present invention relates to compositions comprising a member of the fibroblast growth factor family, FGF-CX (also known as CG53135-05 or FGF-20), its related polypeptides, nucleic acids encoding such polypeptides, and their uses for treating a condition, such as but is not limited to, stroke, wound healing, and joint diseases (e.g., osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis).
