[origin: EP1839510A1] An attachment device (23) is provided for a fastening strap (25, 26) of a helmet of the type having an outer shell (11) forming a bubble (12) with a base portion (12a), an inner band (20) positioned within and at a radial distance from the base portion (12a) of the shell (11), and a layer (30) of expanded polystyrene injected betweeen the base portion (12a) of the bubble (12) and the inner band (20) so as to firmly connect the band (20) to the shell (11). The attachment device (23) comprises a tubular distance piece (24) embedded in the polystyrene layer (30) and extending from the outer shell (11) to the inner band (20). The attachment device further comprises fixing means (35, 36) such as a pin and a plug, inserted into the tubular distance piece (24) and into holes (27, 22) formed in the inner band (20) and the outer shell, for rigidly connecting the inner band (20) to the outer shell (11).
